Bourbon geht unter :(

 

Bourbon kam als winziger Welpe zu uns – und ist seitdem hier. Er kennt nichts anderes als das Leben im Shelter. Ein Alltag voller Lärm, Stress und viel zu wenig individueller Zuwendung.

Früher war Bourbon ein fröhlicher, lustiger Hund. Neugierig, offen, mittendrin. Doch mit der Zeit hat sich das geändert. Schritt für Schritt hat er sich zurückgezogen. Nicht, weil er nicht möchte – sondern weil das Leben hier ihn leise hat werden lassen.

Zwischendurch durfte Bourbon auch frei leben, und genau das zeigt, wer er wirklich ist: Ein Hund, der Freiheit braucht, Bewegung, eigene Entscheidungen. Eingesperrt zu sein entspricht ihm überhaupt nicht – doch zu seiner Sicherheit bleibt uns leider keine andere Möglichkeit.

 

Wenn man heute auf Bourbon zugeht, sieht man zuerst dieses vorsichtige Innehalten:

„Was ist das? Was passiert jetzt?“

Aber er zeigt keinerlei Aggression. Kein Schnappen, kein Abwehren. Im Gegenteil – er bleibt, beobachtet, und legt sich schließlich sogar dazu. Und beginnt, die Nähe zu genießen. Ganz still. Ganz vorsichtig.

Bourbon ist nicht verloren.

Er wartet einfach noch auf seine Chance.

 

Für ihn wünschen wir uns ein Zuhause, welches ihm Sicherheit gibt und ihm zeigt, dass er sich entspannen darf. Menschen mit Geduld, die nichts erwarten, sondern ihn ankommen lassen.

 

Und wir sind uns sicher:

Gibt man Bourbon diese Zeit – Wochen oder vielleicht ein paar Monate – dann wird er wieder aufblühen. Wird laufen, spielen, durch Wiesen und Felder flitzen und das Leben genießen.

Es wäre so unendlich traurig, wenn Bourbon nach all den Jahren weiterhin übersehen wird und noch mehr Zeit im Shelter verbringen muss.

 

  • Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat.
  • Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung).
  • Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt.
  • Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
  • Der Transport (angemeldet mit Traces) wird von uns, so weit es für das Bestimmungsland rechtlich möglich ist, organisiert und durchgeführt. Bitte beachten Sie die Informationen auf dieser Seite: Vermittlung und Transport

Bourbon, born 2022, in the shelter since puppyhood

 

Bourbon – not lost, just forgotten 💔🐾

 

Bourbon came to us as a tiny puppy – and he has been here ever since. He knows nothing but life in the shelter. A daily routine filled with noise, stress, and far too little individual attention.

 

He used to be a happy, funny dog. Curious, open, right in the middle of everything. But over time, something changed. Little by little, he started to withdraw. Not because he doesn’t want to – but because this life has made him quiet.

 

There were times when Bourbon was allowed to live freely, and that shows who he truly is: a dog who needs freedom, movement, and the ability to make his own choices. Being confined does not suit him at all – but for his own safety, we unfortunately have no other option.

 

When you approach Bourbon today, you first see that brief hesitation:

“What is this? What’s happening?”

But there is no aggression in him. No snapping, no defensiveness. On the contrary – he stays, observes, and eventually even lies down nearby, beginning to enjoy the presence. Quietly. Gently.

 

Bourbon is not lost.

He is simply still waiting for his chance.

 

For him, we are looking for a home with a confident resident dog who can guide him and show him that everything is okay. People with patience, who expect nothing and allow him to arrive at his own pace.

 

And we truly believe:

If Bourbon is given this time – weeks, maybe a few months – he will blossom again. He will run, play, race through fields and meadows, and finally enjoy life.

 

It would be incredibly sad if, after all these years, Bourbon continues to be overlooked and has to spend even more time in the shelter.

  • Is currently still in Romania and may leave when he has found a home.
  • Will travel microchipped and vaccinated (EU pet passport; vaccinations include rabies and basic immunization).
  • All dogs are treated for intestinal parasites and ectoparasites upon arrival at the shelter and at least once a year thereafter.
  • The described behavioral observations are based on daily life in the shelter and may differ in a home environment under changed living conditions.
