Zahra, geboren ca. 2018, kastriert, ca. 55 cm Schulterhöhe, im Shelter seit 2020

 

Zahra war lange mit dem Malinois-Rüden Balou in einem Kennel, der nicht in den Freilauf konnte, da er ein kleiner Stänkerer war. Seit Balou vermittelt ist, war Zahra tagsüber frei im großen Auslauf und nachts in ihrem Zwinger (so wird es mit allen Hunden gemacht). Diese Zeit hat ihr sehr gutgetan: Sie konnte einen großen Teil ihrer Ängstlichkeit ablegen und wurde insgesamt offener.

 

 

Leider musste Zahra inzwischen wieder dauerhaft in einen Kennel umziehen und kann aktuell nicht mehr in den Freilauf, da sie dort angegriffen wurde. Das ist für sie ein großer Rückschritt, weil ihr die Bewegung und die Abwechslung sichtbar geholfen haben.

 

Trotzdem macht Zahra weiterhin kleine Fortschritte: Inzwischen lässt sie sich auch schon kurz anfassen. Sie braucht aber nach wie vor viel Zeit, Ruhe und Geduld, um wirklich Vertrauen aufzubauen und sich weiter zu öffnen. Nach wie vor ist sie zurückhaltend und von Geschirr und Leine sind wir noch meilenweit entfernt.

 

 

Zahra gehört zu den Hunden, die schon am längsten im Shelter sind. Umso mehr wünschen wir uns für dieses wundervolle Mädchen endlich einfühlsamen und erfahrenen Menschen, die ihr in Ruhe und ohne Zeitdruck oder Erwartungshaltung zeigen, was ein gutes Hundeleben ist. Es sollte okay sein, wenn sie nie wie ein normaler Hund Gassi gehen oder kuscheln will. Vielleicht ist sie dann für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung gut.

Mindestens ein souveräner Ersthund, sowie ein sicher eingezäunter Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Haus sind Grundvoraussetzungen. Da Zahra nur schlechte Vermittlungschancen hat, würden wir uns sehr freuen, wenn jemand eine Patenschaft für sie übernimmt.

  • Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn sie ein Zuhause gefunden hat.
  • Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung).
  • Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt.
  • Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
  • Der Transport (angemeldet mit Traces) wird von uns, so weit es für das Bestimmungsland rechtlich möglich ist, organisiert und durchgeführt. Bitte beachten Sie die Informationen auf dieser Seite: Vermittlung und Transport

Zahra spent a long time in a kennel with Balou, a male Malinois, who couldn't go out into the exercise area because he was a bit of a troublemaker. Since Balou was adopted, Zahra had free access to the large run during the day and was in her kennel at night (this is standard practice for all the dogs). This time did her a world of good: she was able to overcome much of her anxiety and became much more outgoing.

 

Unfortunately, Zahra has since had to move permanently back into a kennel and is currently unable to go out into the exercise area because she was attacked there. This is a major setback for her, as the exercise and variety had clearly helped her.

 

Nevertheless, Zahra continues to make small improvements: she now allows herself to be touched briefly. However, she still needs a lot of time, peace, and patience to truly build trust and open up further. She remains reserved, and we are still a long way from being comfortable with a harness and leash.

 

Zahra is one of the dogs who has been at the shelter the longest. We are desperately hoping that this wonderful girl will finally find a loving and experienced home with people who can calmly and without pressure or expectations show her what a good dog's life is all about. It should be okay if she never wants to go for walks or cuddle like a typical dog. Perhaps then she'll be good for a few pleasant surprises.

 

At least one confident, well-adjusted dog in the home, as well as a securely fenced garden with direct access to the house, are essential. Since Zahra has very limited chances of being rehomed, we would be incredibly grateful if someone would consider sponsoring her.

  • Is currently still in Romania and may leave when she has found a home.
  • Will travel microchipped and vaccinated (EU pet passport; vaccinations include rabies and basic immunization).
  • All dogs are treated for intestinal parasites and ectoparasites upon arrival at the shelter and at least once a year thereafter.
  • The described behavioral observations are based on daily life in the shelter and may differ in a home environment under changed living conditions.
